THE LOUVRE recently announced the digitized collection of some 480,000+ pieces. If you've never been to this museum, this is probably the best way to see the collection without the crowds and a LOT OF WALKING. My favorites tend to be the sculptures, just excellent stuff to draw from.
(Though...this was actually drawn at the Musee D'Orsay.)
I often have to remind myself that there are still some AMAZING blogs out there that I have learned a lot from over the years. For some reason they fell out of fashion and fall under the wheels of the quick fix of social media.
Anyway, here are a few of my favorites:
HANS BACHER -animator, author, educator...he's got the DEEP CUTS on filmmaking and the composition. Get his books, they're great!
DAVID APATOFF - art critique, historian, etc. His thoughtful analysis is refreshing on a wide range of subjects, illustration, painting, comics, etc.
TEMPLE OF THE SEVEN GOLDEN CAMELS - this used to be my goto early on in my pre-production career.
GURNEY JOURNEY - where art and science meet and shake hands.
TODAY'S INSPIRATION - this is a unique blog as it was started because Leif Peng inherited a Canadian illustrator's morgue file of reference. He ran this from the early '00s (as a mailing list) until 2016 (turned blog).
Anyway, I hope you find the same value I do from these.
